Really, this computer is over 7 years old so, if it did give up the ghost it wouldn't be a real major deal. Its been about 4 days now and it should be dry, but I'll let it go for a few more just to make sure.īy the way it is a PS/2 mouse and I was considering picking up a USB mouse and see if it would help.

I guess all thats left is to figure out how long to let the old keyboard dry out. Go figure!!!!Īpparently it couldn't have harmed any vital organs because it wouldn't have started working again. I tried selecting a few different items that didn't seem to do too much, so then I noticed one that said to restore default configurations and I figured what the heck, afterwards it booted up just like it always has. I happened to remember using an F-10 key on startup just like using F-8 for the safe mode. I sat down again this morning to give it another shot. Well I'm back up and running just like nothing happened. I did notice that the two peripherals plug into about the same place so I would guess into the same board?ĭoes anyone have any ideas on what I could do to get this thing to work or is it time to look at getting a new computer? Its almost like a delayed response to the when you press the arrow keys and enter something.Īnd we have also replaced the mouse as well but, that didn't get wet so I don't see how that could have been affected by the spilled water. I've tried booting up in the safe mode and using some different modes there but, there isn't alot that I can do without the mouse.Īlso I should tell you that the actions of the keyboard are really sloooow. The computer boots up good but, once your there you really can't do much of anything without these two peripherals. And to top it all off the mouse has quit as well, which makes it difficult to really do much of anything with the computer.

We tried replacing the keyboard with another used one and it didn't seem to help. As stated the keyboard on our computer had a glass of water dumped on it by a new kittten that my daughter got for Christmas and the computer was ON.
